Commemorative plaque on the wall of the Saint-Joachim Church (built between 1771 and 1778) honouring priest Robinau de Portneuf and the parishioners who died by his side

Colour photo of a bronze plaque with the French inscription followed by an English translation reading “Near this spot, Father Portneuf and some parishioners were killed after an heroic sortie against Captain Montgomery’s détachement, on August 24th, 1759. They were buried at Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.” At the bottom of the plaque, it reads: Commission des monuments et sites historiques ou artistiques.
