1973. Rosemary Eaton fonds. The Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society Archives.
In the 1970s, urban development came to Cole Harbour, and with it, efforts to preserve both the salt marsh and the agricultural heritage of the area. In this photo, the Colby Village development can be seen. Rosemary Eaton, the photographer, writing on the slide containing this photo, remarked “housing development brings problem to tidal marsh, sewage must go somewhere!”
