Canadian Medical War Museum exhibit at the American College of Surgeons convention in Montreal, October 1920
The Canadian Medical War Museum was an exhibition of World War I medical artifacts presented during the 10th Congress of the American College of Surgeons in Montreal in October 1920. Hosted in McGill University’s new medical building and open free to the public, it brought together collections from the International Association of Medical Museums and local hospitals. The exhibition addressed military medicine, pathology, medical illustration and moulage, and wartime surgical techniques, documenting medical advances and experiences from the 1914–1918 conflict. The first exhibition of its kind organized for the College of Surgeons, it was widely regarded as a unique educational experience, with pathological displays prepared under the direction of Dr. Maude Abbott and warmly received by the public.
