The Royal Victoria Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with McGill University, was founded by Lords Mount Stephen and Strathcona on the southern slopes of Mount Royal in the Golden Square Mile of Montreal. It opened in 1893 and quickly became a centre for clinical care, research, and medical education.
