Thanks to the legacy left by its previous inhabitants, today, Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade is at the core of the commercial activity of the Des Chenaux RCM. Numerous goods and services businesses contribute to the local and regional economy in various fields: restaurant industry, food products, construction and renovation, etc.

Of course, the importance of agri-food companies attests to the agricultural past of the municipality, this to the greater enjoyment of visitors who appreciate the richness of local products such as berries, alcoholic beverages, different types of cheese… Likewise, the municipality’s religious heritage, of which the Sainte-Anne Church and its crypt are the spokespersons, represent an important attraction for visitors. During their visit of Sainte-Anne, they also discover traces of French and British colonial history near the Chemin du Roy and the Sainte-Anne Seigneurial Estate.

However, what has established Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade’s reputation today is undoubtedly tommy-cod fishing. When winter comes, residents, visitors and tourists invade the small short-lived village set up on the Sainte-Anne River to take their chance on tomcod fishing. This goes to show that after 350 years, the river is still at the core of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade’s life!
