Lena
For Lena (she/her), fashion is a way to explore and express her identity. Raised as male, Lena uses clothing to help show who she truly is: a woman with a bright, entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys working with kids who need support. Her style has changed a lot over the years, from oversized sweaters and an emo phase to today’s colourful, confident “pop princess” era.

During the pandemic, she wanted to do what felt right for her. She was able to try out different pronouns and styles from the comfort of home. With time and support from friends, she began styling herself the way she wanted, growing out her hair, wearing pink, and building a wardrobe that feels like her.
Today, she uses clothing to feel confident at work and in everyday life. She wanted to share some pieces that include a breezy black tank top that keeps her cool while working with youth, a t-shirt featuring a Japanese kitsune (fox spirit), and a thrifted crop top that says “Out and Proud.” Her favorite? A hot pink faux-leather jacket (her first big purchase) which she pairs with matching combat boots for a bold, Barbie-inspired look.
From her own experience finding her style, Lena knows that you just have to keep trying. You may go through many styles before you find the one that feels right. If you feel like giving up— don’t. Your style is out there, and it’s worth finding.
