On February 7, 1975, The Gazette reports that the Bruck family has handed over control of the family business to Japanese interests: Toyobo Co. Ltd, a textile giant, and Marubeni Corporation, a company specializing in international trade. After 26 years as president of the company, Gerald L. Bruck, 59, is succeeded by the Japanese Toshikazu Yamaguchi, 47 at the time (and already a member of the executive board since September 1973). Gerald L. Bruck remains involved in the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Robert Bruck, Gerald’s brother and vice-president retires in 1974.
