A landscape painter, Sarah Robertson began her art studies at the age of nineteen at the Art Association of Montreal with William Brymner, Maurice Cullen, and Randolph Hewton. Robertson was at the core of a group of women who painted and worked together for several years during and after the dissolution of the Beaver Hall Group (1921-1923).
