The Liberty Bell

This 2007 replica of the Buxton Liberty Bell stands on a red brick pedestal at the Buxton National Historic Site & Museum. The original, gifted in 1850 by Black Pittsburghers still facing slavery, was the first steeple bell west of London, Ontario. It rang daily and marked each arrival of a freedom seeker. Today, the replica honours that legacy of resilience and welcome.
