Baking bread

It’s a hot summer day, and these residents of Saint-Aubert were are taking the opportunity to bake their bread outdoors. In the past, almost every family living in a rural parish had their own outdoor bread oven. This was important given that these ovens were used during the intense summer heat. One bread oven could meet a family’s needs and even help out a few neighbours.
