Family Stories – A Culinary and Agro-Food Heritage to Discover
A production of the Musée québécois de l'agriculture et de l'alimentationEvery family has a story; a story steeped in unique culinary traditions and innovations. Through the families and cultural communities of Kamouraska, this exhibition aims to portray the rich mosaic of Quebec’s heritage in the form of its territory, products, know-how and numerous actors.
In this exhibition, a number of key figures will introduce you to aspects of the history and evolution of food in Kamouraska since the early days of the colony. Since it is mainly families who have passed this knowledge down, they are the starting point of this journey through time.
On the menu, you’ll find original recipes, innovative products, 18th-century maple syrup production techniques, the appeal of Kamouraska, the prominent role of First Nations, and many other interesting facts. You’ll even find a fishy story or two . . .
