Starting in spring 1945, Lucien Dubé operated a vegetable and flower seed business. The seeds were imported products that had become scarce due to the war, and were described as [Translation] “seeds that had become acclimatized to cold regions” Dubé also offered several varieties of fruit and nut trees from his small farm and pine forest, Sensitive to the beauty of nature, he took up folk painting and taught himself photography in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, where he strove to personally depict the grandeur of the Laurentian landscape that he loved so much.
