The Saints, led by Bob De Clark with Art Dowswell, Jerry McGovern, Merv Mawson and Dave Bird were one of the bands entertaining youth audiences at Teen Town dances in Ladysmith during the late 1950s and early 1960s, playing early rock and roll music. Dave Bird (piano) was an extremely accomplished musician who, in the path of his career, worked with, amongst others, the British pop star Engelbert Humperdinck.
