The two images show successive Roman Catholic Church buildings.

The second Roman Catholic St. Mary’s Church building, erected in 1904, was destroyed by fire on November 7,  1966. A crowd watched the fire brigade at work, but the building was lost.

It was subsequently demolished and a third, larger and present St Mary’s church was built on 4th Avenue; this opened in 1968.
