Award-winning bluesman David Gogo’s original, “She’s Breakin’ Through” is based on a true story. In it, he tells the tragic tale of his great-grandfather, who was one of nineteen men killed in a 1915 mining accident in the Black Track mines in South Wellington, BC, near his home of Nanaimo.
David Gogo has seven JUNO Award nominations, has been named Guitarist Of The Year three times at the Maple Blues Awards, was named Musician Of The Year at the West Coast Music Awards, won Blues Recording Of The Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards, and received the Great Canadian Blues Award for his lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada as voted by the listeners of CBC’s Saturday Night Blues.
When not touring, David Gogo lives on his family’s heritage Christmas Tree farm on Gogo Mountain.
