This 1923 Baldwin Mikado style 2-8-2 rod type engine was brought to Ladysmith about 1944 to haul loaded log cars from the newly opened logging grounds at Nanaimo Lakes to the Log Dump at Ladysmith Harbour. The booming grounds associated with the log dump can be seen in the background. Today this steam engine is on static display in Ladysmith.
