The open-air amphitheatre, constructed as a Millennium project through public funds and private donations by Ladysmith citizens, was opened in 2000 by Ladysmith Mayor Rob Hutchins. A stepped grass seating area faces a circular stage, which features two tall wooden poles and a covered water tank, both of which play a role in the annual Loggers Sports. The waters of Stuart Channel and the Gulf Islands form an idyllic backdrop to the stage.
