This trio, Florence Ferguson (Piano), Jack Atkinson (Drums), and Raymond Burrard (Violin), played in Ladysmith in the 1950s. They were a popular band that played foxtrots and waltzes at many functions at the Ladysmith Legion, Native Daughters Hall and Eagles Hall during the 1950s and 1960s.
Florence Ferguson ran a music store on First Avenue in Ladysmith, which later moved to Nanaimo to capitalize on its success. She taught music to local students. She and her husband performed regularly, playing foxtrots and waltzes with a variety of other musicians at local venues such as the Aggie and Eagles halls.
