The first woman assigned to the newspaper’s La Tuque office, she went on to cover political and labour news for three decades. Meanwhile, her interest in the labour movement led her to become president of the staff union at Le Nouvelliste. She won the Claude Masson Prize, awarded by the Association canadienne des périodiques catholiques (Canadian Association of Catholic Periodicals) for individual excellence in French-language print journalism in Canada.
