Louise Plante is a retired journalist who worked at Le Nouvelliste. Paule Vermot Desroches is currently a reporter at the same newspaper. In this clip, they discuss Plante’s career.
Paule Vermot-Desroches: Well, you know, when I started at the newspaper, and that was 22 years ago, there were already more women than men in my internship year. And when you look at the breakdown of the team at Le Nouvelliste today, in 2023, it’s basically 50/50.
Louise Plante: Yeah, we’ve achieved parity.
Paule Vermot-Desroches: Clearly, there’s parity between men and women, and we’re even managed by a woman. After all, there’s a woman in charge.
Louise Plante: Oh yeah, no. It’s great to see, because I feel like it took a long time.
