Justin Chauvette and Kate Grenier, the two coordinators of this virtual exhibition, speak with Lise Léveillé, a native of the region, who acquired ownership of Le Dynamique de la Mauricie in 1978. They are joined by Lise’s cousin, André Léveillé, a former mayor of Saint-Tite and cofounder of the Festival Western de Saint-Tite. Lise’s husband is also present.
Kate – So, when you… Basically, the newspaper was very popular. You must have been proud to say your cousin was the woman in charge.
André – Well, even I was a client. I was. I had my grocery store and I placed ads every two weeks. I used her newspaper to advertise my grocery specials.
Lise – And for me, he owned a grocery store, and he was also mayor of Saint-Tite. So, we were both proud to say we were each other’s cousins.

Lise’s husband – Head first!
Lise – Yup.
Kate – How long were you the owner?
Lise – Until 1992. Because I think it was marked ’88.
Justin – Yeah, I saw ’88, but that’s the… The article I found was from ’88, so it was probably still…
Kate – You kept going after that.
Justin – So, ’92.
Lise – Oh, OK.
Justin – OK.
