Journalists Adrienne Choquette and Claire Roy in Pointe-du-Lac (April 30, 1963)
Over the course of her career, Adrienne Choquette contributed to some 15 different newspapers and magazines, including Le Bien Public and Le Nouvelliste. From 1937 to 1948, she was a radio host on CHLN in Trois-Rivières. She also worked as a producer, scriptwriter and advertising copywriter at the station.
Later, Choquette moved to Quebec City, where she co-edited Terre et Foyer (Home and Hearth), a magazine published by the Department of Agriculture. A highly talented writer, she was paid to author several books and collections. She pursued her passion for writing right up to her death in 1973, following which two of her stories were published posthumously. Since 1981, in tribute to this inspiring woman, the Adrienne Choquette Prize has been awarded to outstanding short story writers in Quebec.
