A woman of letters, Hélène B.-Beauséjour (née Brouillette) was deeply attached to the Mauricie. She was born in Saint-Narcisse in 1895. Having initially found work as a schoolteacher, her love of writing led her to pursue journalism. When she was 20 years old, she married Camille Beauséjour and the couple settled in Grand-Mère. They would have 10 children.
