Smash Capital Posters

The one on the left is purple on a white background, and was created in Paris in 1968. The one on the right is black on a red background. The words New Democratic Youth appear below the main image.

Screen printing inspiration across the Atlantic. The purple poster on the left was created by radical artists in Paris in May 1968. Examples of the work of the French artists were brought to Canada, and inspired members of the radical New Democratic Youth group to create the red version shown on the right around 1971. A number of the iconic French posters from the May 1968 near-revolution inspired poster artists in Canada and the United States.
