Boycott U.S. Grapes and Lettuce
The long and bitter struggle by farmworkers in the United States for better pay and working conditions aroused strong support in Canada. From 1965 to 1970, Canadians coast to coast boycotted American grapes and lettuce, and picketed and marched to express support for farmworkers. In 1970, the United Farmworkers won a contract, and the boycott ended victoriously.
