While the family’s sons worked mostly on the ranch, Teresa sent her daughters to school in New Westminster to ensure their education.
When Moses died, Teresa passed the ranch to her son Peter and moved to Clinton with her other children, where she bought and ran the Clinton Hotel. Grandson Sidney was kept warm in an apple crate behind the stove, looked after by the Chinese cook while his mother served tables.
