Sifroy Guéret dit Dumont

Collection Paul-Louis Martin
Sifroy Guéret dit Dumont (1813-1881), the son of a Kamouraska farmer, had the good fortune to marry Julie Saint-Pierre (1824-1900) of Saint-André, in 1845. She was the daughter of a merchant. The couple had two children, William and Angèle.
Sifroy Guéret learned from his father-in-law’s experience how to become a merchant.
This group is in front of the house of Sifroy Guéret dit Dumont in Saint-André. Note that two of the carriages are being pulled by horses. The third carriage, on the right, is being pulled by an ox.
