Public markets are always a pleasure to visit. They smell of fresh fruit, home-cooked produce and even flowers. Everything is plentiful and beautiful!
Several fruit producers sell apples, pears, cherries and plums. The fruit on display is almost always perfect, since it is selected and graded. Did you know that you can often buy fruit at lower prices from the same producer? Such fruit is referred to as “downgraded.” Its shape is not perfect or the peel has a defect. But it’s just as delicious.
