Old, yet still productive

Just because I’m an old apple tree doesn’t mean I give old apples.

Fruit trees in Quebec live on average 50 to 60 years. Several factors influence the life of a fruit tree. Maintenance, extreme weather conditions, insect or disease infestations are factors that shorten their life.
These old trees seem to have been sculpted by time and bad weather. Apple trees are particularly gnarled. They have a large trunk and branches that sometimes curve all the way to the ground. They are impressive. Depending on our state of mind, they seem to lean over to offer us their fruit or want to catch those who get too close.
