Notary Amable Morin didn’t look like a very nice person. However, appearances can be deceiving. He was a man capable of marvelling at the beauty of nature.
When you read an excerpt from his correspondence with his friend, Abbot François Pilote (1811-1877) of Collège Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, you can imagine that he walked along the rows of trees in his orchard and took the time to breathe in the air laden with the scent of flowering trees. He must have heard bees foraging.
June 16, 1868 – By now, I have over 300 apple trees in bloom, many of which are snow white and smell so good. I also have around 200 plum trees and several other trees in bloom.
