Old photographs convey a great deal of information other than that which the photographer wanted to capture.
Not everyone could afford a flash lamp. It was hard to take photographs inside a house because the lighting wasn’t very good. Most of the time, photographs of people were taken outside. In this photograph we can see trees behind the young girl and the baby. Due to their shape, the figures look a bit like apple and cherry or plum trees.
