L’Éveil newspaper.
Until 1972, the Parish and the City of Saint-Eustache were two distinct municipalities. This article invites readers to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the merger by participating in a variety of activities. An excerpt from this article is transcribed below, and followed by a description of the activities offered:
“The current mayor of the City of Saint-Eustache, Jean Prévost, announced a week of festivities planned by a committee made up of some municipal councillors, René Tousignant, Assistant City Manager, and Carole Rivet, Head of Communications of the City of Saint-Eustache respectively. Mr. Prévost took the opportunity to encourage everyone in the city to join in the festivities.”
Taking as their theme Twenty Years Together, the festivities included a tribute to the builders of Saint-Eustache, held at the library, a re-enactment of a session of the 1972 municipal council at the Centre culturel, and a closing show featuring many comics and musicians at the Saint-Eustache church. The activities took place from January 13 to 19, 1992 and were free for residents of Saint-Eustache.
