Monique Villeneuve was one of the organizers of the Fêtes du Vieux Saint-Eustache from 1974 to 1976; her main role was producing material for the event. Today, her interest in heritage is a strong as ever. Here, she talks about her love of old houses and their histories. This interview excerpt is transcribed below :
Monique Villeneuve: It’s interesting, for sure… Uh, I live on rue Lemay, in a kind of… of big house that’s similar to the old house belonging to Dr. Corriveau. I still really love old houses, definitely. They make me happy.
Yves Lauzé’s house, just on the corner, I go there, I find it incredible. And, like his family, they’ve been living there for ages and ages, he can tell me the history of his house and I love listening to him. In that sense, yeah, but you know, I can tell you, I’m constantly doing research or… no, but I really enjoy it.
