Acknowledgements

The organization of this extensive presentation of objects and images, borrowed from numerous collections and archives throughout Canada for the exhibition and international collections, is the result of a real team effort. Sincere thanks goes to the many lenders and partnering institutions, without whom this exhibition would not have come to fruition.

Major funding to the MJM&AG for the project was provided by the Museums Assistance Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. MJM&AG also acknowledges generous support from Canada Council for the Arts, the Saskatchewan Arts Board, SaskCulture Inc., Saskatchewan Lotteries, the City of Moose Jaw, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59.

Thank you to Julia Krueger for her dedication to the project in her research and to Julia and Louise Krueger for assistance with editing. Thank you to Andrew Iarocci for serving as editor on the project and sharing his military expertise, and to Laura Brandon for sharing her insights on the significance of trench art in her introductory essay. Many thanks to Gabriela García-Luna for beautifully and tirelessly documenting countless works, Rob Froese for assisting with exhibition set-up, Wendy Parsons for designing the education program and to Richard Lapointe for his keen eye and expertise in translation.

And last, but certainly not least, a special thank you goes out to the staff of the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery, who have dedicated many hours toward the administration and production of the exhibition tour, publication, and Virtual Museum of Canada project. Thanks to Joan Maier, Project Manager; Ross Melanson, Curatorial Assistant; Vivian Barber, Preparator; and Christy Schweiger for website design and social media. Seeing the results of these efforts firsthand, it has been a pleasure to work with this fine team on this significant project.
