“Let There Be Light” Tapestry

A colourful tapestry depicting the biblical narrative of the creation of light, with Hebrew text around the border.

Designed by Canadian Jewish artist Yehouda Chaki, the second tapestry sewn by the Shaar Hashomayim’s Sisterhood. It was completed and officially unveiled in 1992 in honour of the congregation’s 145 anniversary. It depicts the biblical phrase “Let There Be Light.”
