“In the Beginning” Tapestry

A colourful tapestry depicting the biblical narrative of creation, with Hebrew text around the border.

Designed by Canadian Jewish artist Yehouda Chaki, this tapestry was sewn by the Shaar Hashomayim’s Sisterhood. It was completed and officially unveiled in 1982, and depicts the biblical phrase “In The Beginning,” in reference to the creation of the world.
