Holy Family Academy

The construction of the Holy Family Academy began in 1910 and ended in 1912. It offered academic classes to boys and girls. It would later offer commercial, home economics, music and painting classes.
Before its construction, orphans were welcomed and stayed in one of the hospital wings. Taking care of the orphans was dear to the hearts of the nuns. Sisters Marie Anne Doucet and Isabelle Sormany (La Dauversière) were responsible for the layout of the academy. Room and board stopped in 1943 for the boys and in 1966 for the girls. This building now acts as the Historical Museum of Tracadie Inc. and is managed by the corporation of the alumni of the Holy Family Academy.

Cemetery cross

In memory of the fifty-nine Religious Hospitallers of Saint Joseph buried in Tracadie between 1885 and 1979.
They devoted their lives to God, to love Him and serve Him, by prayer, caring for the sick and educating the youth.
The nuns live henceforth in the peace, the joy and the light of God because they put their faith and belief in the resurrection of Jesus.
"What you have done unto the weakest of the weak, you have done unto Me".
