The parade was a major feature of the May Day celebration in Port Moody. It was this event that began the celebration. The parade found its way to the schoolgrounds for festivities and often led to Rocky Point Park.

The parade route to Rocky Point Park started on St. George Street and would head north on Hugh Street to St. John's Street. It would then head west along St. John's Street to Queen's Street, north on Queen's Street to Clark Street, along Clark Street and Murray Street to Rocky Point Park.

The parade featured floats of local businesses and social clubs, marching bands, Scouts and Girl Guides, children with decorated bicycles, clowns, decorated convertibles which the May Queen and Royal Party would ride in and more.

Marching Bands
In every parade, there was at least one marching band included. They would often be pipe bands, the Port Moody School Band and other bands such as the Sechelt Band.
