Andrew Randall Cobb (1876 – 1943)
He was born on June 13th, 1876 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Greenwich, Nova Scotia in 1890. Cobb attended Acadia University and the School of Architecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was the first professional architect in Halifax. His career lasted from 1909 to his death in 1943.
In the 1920's, he was retained by Newfoundland Power and Paper Company to design the houses and public buildings of Corner Brook. Many of the houses he designed as well as the Glynmill Inn, still remain.

The Glynmill Inn was one of Andrew Cobb's most striking architectural legacies. The Glynmmill Inn was originally built to provide living quarters for the senior staff who were supervising the construction of the Mill.

On June 30th, 1924, Sir Glyn West (for whom Glynmill Inn was named) officially opened the Hotel to the public.

This is the official residence of the General Manager of the paper mill operators.
An extensive greenhouse is maintained here, and the premises have been used for many formal occasions over the years.
