Oscar Magnuson's house was at the bottom of Reid Street, south of Carson Avenue on the west side. A local newspaper known as the "Advertiser" operated out of this house. After the house was torn down a new building became the location for Quesnel's first radio station, CKCQ, and laundrymat.

The "Advertiser" also resided in this new building.

In the late 1960's this building was torn down to make room for the road leading up to the Moffet Bridge.

Sam Bohannon's barn could be found on the west side of Reid Street, south of Carson Avenue. William Ewing's house came after the barn. Mr. Bohanon used this barn to store and sort furs for the Hudson's Bay Company. It later became the Ewing warehouse and was later owned by Clarence Fuller.

Today this location is part of an extended yard used for storing excess materials sold at the Eagle Building Supply store.

179 Reid Street

William and Charlotte Ewing's home was at 179 Reid Street on the west side, south of Carson Avenue.

The Erings owned one of the first butcher shops in Quesnel. This shop was an extention to their home.

In the late 1930's their daughter, Gladys Kelley, along with her son moved in with her mother, Charlotte. Gladys ran the house as a boarding house and in the 1950's the Royal Bank bought some of the Ewing property to extend their building.

Today the rest of the property is an extention of Eagle Building Supply complex. It is used to store the overflow of supplies sold at the Eagle Supply store which is directly across the street.

The building on the west side of Reid Street, south of Carson Avenue, on the corner was once the Royal Bank of Canada. The Bank was built in 1928.

During it's construction, indoor plumbing was installed. A bathtub was placed in a back room for the Bank employees. Eventually the news spread about the tub and since indoor plumbing was scarce, other people started using the facilities. The Bank was extended in 1951 when part of Grace Kelly's land was sold to the Bank. During the construction the bathtub was removed. The public outcry was so great the bathtub had to be put back in.

Today the bathtub can be found in Quesnel and District Museum and Archives. The building was used as a library for a time until it was taken over by Quesnel's Cariboo Observer which still occupies the space today.
