The first schoolhouse in this section was erected on the south-east corner of the ninth concession and the Lloydtown Road. This school was not a log building but was constructed of plank. Its dimensions were about thirty-five feet by twenty-five feet. It was built in the very early days, presumably about 1820.
The next school to be built changed "from it former position to the site now occupied just south east of the village" built about 1845. The 3rd school was built in 1867 at a cost of $1600 and is pictured here. The school was adapted over the years and in 1897, when the need was felt in the section for a high school, the rate payers built a room to the west of this building in the form of a "T". This room was used for "continuation-school" work. It never accommodated more than 25 pupils and only carried the pupil as far as the second year work in a high school.
