The Bank of Canada Vault had multiple uses while CFS Carp was in operation. This space was first constructed to house Canada's 800 ton gold reserve in the case of a nuclear attack, as radiation contaminates the gold and renders it valueless. Shortly after going off of the gold standard, the Bank of Canada relinquished ownership of the vault, and the space was instead used for storage.
