Frank and Mary took a trip back to Poland.Shortly After their return, WWII broke out. Frank had become a Canadian citizen in April 1935.

They had two children, Michel born in 1943 and Marie who was born in 1945 and died the same year. Frank died in 1986 at the age of 85. In 2002 at the age of 88, Mary died. They are both buried in the Mossbank Cemetary.

This picture shows the house snowed in during the notorious winter of 1947. The snow was so deep that a freight train carrying supplies got stuck on the tracks. It got completely covered by snow that was so deep that track clearing equipment couldn't be brought in. The entire train had to be dug out by hand!
