After their successful run in the O-QAA, Queen's went on to the Ontario University Athletic Association (OUAA). This was their shortest stint in an association in their school history. During their two year stint in the OUAA, Queen's did not win any championship. After their short stint in the OUAA, Queen's entered their last conference in the 20th century, known as the Ontario Quebec Intercollegiate Football Conference (OQIFC); Queen's won a total of 15 championships. Their first championship in this conference was during the 1977 season when they won their 21st Yates Cup. In the championship game, Queen's went on to play and defeat the Bishop's Gaiters 45-27. With that win Queen's went on to their first ever Atlantic Bowl against the Acadia Axemen. During that game, Queen's lost their first ever appearance in the Atlantic Bowl 35-22.

The next season, Queen's repeated as Yates Cup championship and made their second straight appearance in the Atlantic Bowl. This time Queen's won their first and only Atlantic Bowl as they defeated St. Francis Xavier 31-10, next up was the Canadian College Bowl which Queen's played the UBC Thunderbirds. This game was considered a kicker's game in which Queen's won 16-3 and captured their second national championship.

During the 1980s, Queen's won five championships. Their first championship in the 1980s was during the 1981 season when Queen's won the second annual Dunsmore Cup (the Dunsmore Cup is for the winner of the Quebec championship). In that championship game, Queen's went on to play McGill, and in that game they defeated McGill 26-19. With that win, Queen's went on to the Atlantic Bowl in which they played Acadia again. Much like last time in which these two teams played, Acadia got the best of them as they defeated Queen's 40-14.

The following season in 1983, this was the best season for Queen's in the decade. Queen's went on to win another Dunsmore Cup, and made their third appearance in the Churchill Bowl in which they faced U of T. In that game, Queen's went on to defeat the U of T 21-7 and went to another Vanier Cup where they played the Calgary Dinos, in which they lost 31-21. Queen's next two Dunsmore Cups were in 1984 and 1989.

During the 1990s, Queen's had the same success as they did in the previous decade where they won three more Dunsmore Cups (1991, 1992, and 1997) and one Churchill Bowl (1992) and a Vanier Cup which they won in the 1992 season when Queen's defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 31-0 for their third National championship. This game was the first time in Vanier Cup history that a team was shutout.

During Queen's time playing collegiate football in Canada, they are considered to be one of the top collegiate football programs in the 20th century. And still to this day, the university still shows that they can be a force to be reckoned with.
