Saskatchewan's last time that they were in the Vanier Cup in the 20th century was during the 1998 season, in which they finished with another 6-2 record and a first place finish in the Canada West conference. Saskatchewan won their 14th Hardy Cup when they once again defeated UBC, Saskatchewan went on to play in the Churchill Bowl again, and this time they played Western in one of the national semi-finals. The Huskies won that game and went to their fifth Vanier Cup where they played Concordia University. In this national championship game, Saskatchewan would end up winning the last Vanier Cup in the century when they defeated Concordia 24-17.

All in all, Saskatchewan won a total of 23 championships in the 20th century.
