These two pictures are the remains of the turbine. This turbine continued to run until 1935, when the mill burned down. Amongst the undergrowth are other metal objects, including old saws, iron rods and bars.

A nostalgic reminder of the past is one of the millstones, lying in the adjoining field, and fast becoming hidden by grass and weeds. Another millstone from this site is supposed to be at the Balmoral Gristmill Museum.

Along the top of the valley sides are many large sugar maple trees, from the time when the Swans had a small maple syrup industry (See 'Service Industries').
