They were a band of sturdy pioneers,
The like of which will never more appear
In all the future tides of endless time.
They blazed the trails and opened up the way
That less and weaker men might pass along.
They laid the foundation for a future state -
They laid it deep - in basic substance strong.
Their names will vanish with the passing years;
Their deeds will live in history and song...
