Sandra retired from competitive sport in 1969 to devote herself to her studies. A specialist in regional geological mapping and igneous geology, Sandra has now taught courses at all levels, from introductory to graduate student programs. In 1989, Dr. Barr was honoured for her work as a geologist, teacher and researcher when she was presented the Excellence in Teaching Award by the Associated Alumni of Acadia University. Today, Dr. Barr continues to teach at Acadia and advance her research, and our understanding, of the nature of the Maritime's geology. |
