Herb Samis:
Herb became a solid supporter of Olds. When the gold rushers of 1898 asked him to join them his answer was "There is black gold in Olds". He was referring to the soil. He planted a CPR garden for 50 years. The travelers on the train would see Herbs messages planted in flowers, as well as his outstanding vegetables and fruits.
The message he planted most often was "See Olds First"
