On the way back Wallace travelled by dog team around the tip of Labrador. He has the distinction of being the first "white" man to ever carry the mail for the coast of Labrador.108
The full collection of photos developed from the glass lantern slides, along with original artifacts from the journey's of 1903 and 1905, can be viewed at the Labrador Heritage Museum in North West River, Labrador. The museum itself is an original Hudson's Bay Company Store, built in 1924, at the same location from which Hubbard and Wallace departed into the unknown so many years before. |
